Library News

Good reading for these cold winter days include: SOLID, by John Myer. If you wish to continue following Jesus in the midst of this chaotic world, your Christian life must first have an indestructible foundation. In this book--the uniqueness of Christ, what it means to be saved, how to know you are saved and many other foundational truths.

LOVE AND RESPECT, by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. The love she most desires, the respect he desperately needs—a marriage book with a difference.

ATTENTION PARENTS. If you are looking for help in answering questions children usually get around to asking, this series of books is designed to help you answer those difficult and sometimes embarrassing questions about sex, comfortably and truthfully, in age-appropriate terms and encourage healthy communication between your child and you through the challenging years ahead.

Book 1:

THE STORY OF ME (ages 3-5),

Book 2:

BEFORE I WAS BORN (ages 5-8),

Book 3:

WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? WHY GOD CARES ABOUT SEX (ages 8-11)

Book 4:

FACING THE FACTS: THE TRUTH ABOUT SEX AND YOU (ages 11-14).

These books are to be checked out by adults only.

Your church library is open on Sunday, before, between and after the morning services and on Wednesday evenings before services. Check it out!

Adult Sunday School Classes

March - May 2008

New Heart -The Purpose Driven Life (study continues)-meets in room #204 with Connie Hess.  What on earth am I here for?  It’s not about you.  You were created by God, for God, and until you understand that life will never make sense.  It is only in God that we discover our origin, identity, meaning, purpose, significance, and destiny.  All are welcome.

Bible Class 1 - will be meeting in room #109 with Kim Border.  This class has a discussion and a devotional each week to prepare you for the week ahead.  All are welcome.

Men’s Bible Class - will be meeting in room #1 in the Fellowship Hall with Joe Fidelman.  This class is for men of all ages and spiritual maturity.  Continuing a verse by verse study of the Gospel of John.  Please bring your Bibles.

Senior Adult Bible Class - will be meeting in the Sanctuary with Wilma Giester.  This quarter we will be studying the book of Acts. The stunned disciples peered up into the thickening clouds, speechless, until startled by the presence of angels. Jesus had risen from the dead. He was really there, walking with them, discussing the kingdom of God with them, breaking bread with them; then in a moment, He was gone. As you study the book of Acts this quarter, let the spark that started the fire so long ago again blaze up and shine for all of the world to see.

Love Beyond Reason - will be meeting in room #203 with Warren Rose.  A continuation of the study on how we, through Jesus, can move His love from our heads to our hearts.  God’s love for us is beyond explanation!  All are welcome.

Young Adults & College Discipleship - will be meeting in room #202 with Aaron & Jen Hess.  This class will be continuing a series called “Living Beyond Yourself.” If you ever struggle with uncertainties about faith, you find good company in the Bible. By studying people in the Bible who took some huge leaps of faith, we will grow in our own trust in God. All young adults and college age welcome.

Connections -…developing a courageous faith. The Connections class is designed not only for those who are exploring what it means to be a Christ follower, but also for those who want to grow in their walk with Christ.

You will learn…

1. How to make right choices of your time, talents and choices.

2. Better understand God’s purpose for your life.

3. How to apply scriptural direction at home, work, college, and in relationships.

4. Principals that will help you continue to mature as a Christian.

Class is taught by a Team of Teachers and Pastor Dave. This class meets in room #2 in the fellowship hall.
