When I say the word vision what do you think of?
1. Direction
2. Value
3. Who
4. Passion
Proverbs 29:18 (NIV)
18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
but blessed is he who keeps the law.
18 When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But
whoever obeys the law is happy.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that
keepeth the law, happy is he.
“BUILDING
THE KINGDOM ONE PERSON AT A TIME” but the real vision is
what we call our Core Values or the 4 E’s.

Luke 15:1-10, 30-32 (NIV)
Lk 15:1 Now the tax collectors and "sinners" were all
gathering around to hear him. 2 But
the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, "This man welcomes
sinners and eats with them." 3 Then
Jesus told them this parable: 4 "Suppose
one of you has a hundred sheep and loses
one of them…Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice
with me; I have found my lost sheep.' 7 I tell you that in the same
way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than
over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. 8 "Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does
she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9
And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and
says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' 10 In the same
way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over
one sinner who repents."
30
But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with
prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!' 31 "'My
son,' the father said, 'you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.
32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of
yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.'"

2 Corinthians 8:1-5 (NIV) 1 And now, brothers, we want
you to know about the grace that God has given the
Macedonian churches.
2 Out of the most severe trial, their
overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.
3 For I testify that they gave
as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,
4 they urgently pleaded with us for
the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. 5 And
they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and
then to us in keeping with God's will.

2 Cor 8:10-1510 And here is my advice about
what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to
give but also to have the desire to do so. 11 Now
finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your
completion of it, according to your means. 12 For
if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has,
not according to what he does not have. 13
Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard
pressed, but that there might be equality. 14 At
the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their
plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, 15 as it is written: "He who gathered
much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too
little."

2
Corinthians 9:5-11 (NIV)5 So I thought it necessary to urge the
brothers to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous
gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift, not as one
grudgingly given. 6 Remember this: Whoever
sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also
reap generously. 7 Each man
should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under
compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And
God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all
times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
9 As it is written: "He has
scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures
forever." 10 Now he who
supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase
your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
11 You will be made rich in every
way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your
generosity will result in thanksgiving to God
Verses 12-1312 This service that you
perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing
in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because
of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the
obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for
your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
There are a few things that destroy vision in our
lives both individually and as a church.
